Welcome to my character portrait gallery

For anyone who is wondering, Wednesday became 'black Wednesday' for me because I cannot draw mid-week!
In fact I'm sure the rainforests mourn Wednesday too by the amount of paper I tear through in frustration... so this is a blog for all who know what like it is to regularly shout at their pencils
Oh yes it's also all about fictional characters plus interviews with them, yeah, that too :)

Karstine Maranay Zeterra

Karst exudes a persona of instant charm. She is feisty and playful from the very first word. We let her smoke a roll-up during the interview as the room still stinks from the cigars Braus constantly chuffed. Aged 24 and at 5ft 6in tall Karst has a clear sense of her own identity. Her brilliant green eyes flash with a flirtatious defiance. She toys with us at first, acts a little coy and comes off as rather cloying until she realises we aren’t here to steal her smokes or coins.

A very clever and independent woman Karst knows too well how to get the better of her opponent. As half-Felid we are surprised she allows us to call her by one name alone, especially as that name sounds like a forename. (For those who aren’t in the know Felids traditionally stick to being called by a combination of surname and forename ((see Si’Ra/Dro’Zar/Kha'Rii)) it has been a long standing tradition and form of politeness to call Felids primarily by surname.) Karst however denounced her true Felid name and won’t tell us what it was. She now calls herself Karstine Maranay Zeterra. We can’t be sure where those names come from but are quite certain we might get hot ash flicked in our eyes if we ask.

She has a mostly friendly disposition to everyone she meets and indulges in what she deems as ‘playful ribbing.’ She likes pranks and uses sarcasm as though opiate dependant on it. Her off-colour jokes don’t go down very well but we guess she didn’t tell them to please us.

Her fiery nature makes her difficult to be around at times and she is prone to outbursts of anger. Still her main goal appears to be seeking entertainment, a talented and yet bored woman who bears a half-mouthed grin on her face and a sparkle in her eyes.

Karst’s overall philosophy on life is, in her words, ‘too damned short not to have fun with.’
Can we ‘like’ or thumb this up more than once?

Kha'Riieko

The first thing that strikes us about Kha’Rii is the smell.
In fact the stench of rotten fish and brine arrives shortly before he does.

Resembling recently beached debris he saunters into the room without a care in the world. It is clear he pays little attention to his outward appearance and doesn’t preen as often as most Felidae, if at all. His knee length slacks are falling apart and his fur is heavily encrusted with salt. At 27 years of age and standing 5ft 9in tall he comes across as a laid back and self-assured. In person Kha’Rii is a genial type of fellow, easy to talk to and always eager to lend a helping hand. He explains that he works as a boatswain despite the fact that he doesn’t care much for sailing.

His dancing eyes brim with bright enthusiasm as he details how his fondness of water spurred him to take the first available seafaring job. The legitimacy of the vessel and crew were apparently unimportant factors. He currently swabs boards on a ramshackle haulier named Dolores: his meal ticket to always be within splashing distance of the soothing salt water he craves. Kha’Rii relates that whilst The Dolores may be a dump of a ship he is loyal to its crew and wouldn’t hesitate to protect them with his life.

Having sodden fur it seems is in part a hobby, one that ties in well with the pleasure of fishing. We assume the reason that his tongue is perma-stuck outside his mouth is because he likes the briny taste of sea air as much as the salt crystals he constantly licks from his snout. When not swimming, fishing or otherwise skiving off from boatswain duties he likes to whittle driftwood.

All told; Kha’Rii’s frivolous nature, loyalty and love of water cause us to conclude that this kitty probably should have been born a dog.

Dro'Zar

Little is known about this elderly feline. He isn’t the secretive sort, but is a humble soul who rarely tells tales of his extraordinary life. He maintains an air of calm collectiveness and whilst he emits an aura that demands respect he is not the sort to impose his ideals upon others.

Dro’Zar stands a mere 5ft 1in tall. His body resembles that of a teenage boy, his initial appearance could easily be mistaken for a young 15 year old Felid and yet he has weathered more years than we can count. His actual age is unknown.

He very rarely speaks outright. Dro’Zar is a philosophical soul who exhibits few of the vampiric tendencies that others of his race display. Perhaps being aged means he has grown accustomed to the urges that others of his kind display. He bows genially towards us after the interview and exits in the same cool manner he entered the room.

Si'Raeemai

Si’Raeemai, or Si’Ra as he is more commonly known, is the polite third part of our once mercenary trio alongside Argo Reed and the ever-effervescent Charrock.  Currently an annulled member of the trio and spurned by his old master Xio (it’s a long story) Si’Ra is a lone man for hire. He takes small freelance jobs from the likes of Ezra Canzerth and Amber Aarona and often frequents her ‘hidden’ dwelling in Tyne canyon.

He is polite to a fault and strongly believes in the etiquette of business conduct.

At 5ft 9in tall and 31yrs of age Si’Ra is a successful mercenary whose will is as sturdy as his thickened skin. Whilst morally correct as an individual Si’Ra has no problem switching tack to complete a task. He has killed many men on demand and done unspeakable things on request. Si’Ra sees it merely as his job and does not connect his work to his personality.

A stickler for details and formalities it is rare he will call you by your first name. This is born in part from the naming system used by the Felid but also because Si’Ra is one stubborn cat.
