Welcome to my character portrait gallery

For anyone who is wondering, Wednesday became 'black Wednesday' for me because I cannot draw mid-week!
In fact I'm sure the rainforests mourn Wednesday too by the amount of paper I tear through in frustration... so this is a blog for all who know what like it is to regularly shout at their pencils
Oh yes it's also all about fictional characters plus interviews with them, yeah, that too :)

Argo Reed

(Kindly posed without his eye-patch)
Argo Reed is 29 years old, as an opening pointer he enforces that he is a salamander and is not in any way related to reptiles. Having a slight speech impediment, he explains (in as many ways as possible without using the dreaded letter ‘s’) means he often mistaken for a snake.

Seeing the size of the gun he propped in the corner we decided not to mention that this misunderstanding may have something to do with his somewhat secretive and slippery nature.
A sly and rather self-serving man he describes his primary interests as weapons and money.

Unsurprisingly he works as a mercenary, bounty hunter and assassin. At 5ft 6in he is considerably shorter than his current partner in crime; Charrock. Both are known to be excellent marksmen.

Argo is also a strong swimmer who possesses many valuable abilities from his racial heritage. For example his skin may change colour according to environment (see below). He doesn’t detail the disadvantages but does allude to the reasons behind his eye-patch (not pictured). He explains he can only use one eye at a time as his vision is mismatched, one is best for daylight sniper work, whilst the other sees well in the dark and underwater.

Considering that most of us require two eyes for depth perception we are in doubled in awe that he never misses a target.
'Argo rendered in green camouflage'
(It would have been admittingly more amusing if he turned pink, but we figured asking would mean being added to his hit-list)

L. Hvidsten

‘Our Hero’

A belligerent soul Hvidsten is against all odds, our hero. Or at least Evyn Graye dictates that he will be our hero.  Ok so we’re informed he’s meant to be the hero but apparently, by his own furious admission to the above statement he seriously doesn’t want to be.  For the most part we get the impression that acting as ‘hero’ or leader is a sore subject second only to his height complex.

Hvidsten is 39 years old and as he begrudgingly states is 5ft tall. (Actually he’s just less than 4ft 12, closer to 4ft 11 by our measure.) A stocky and well-built man Hvidsten is entirely self-sufficient, incredibly strong and super-stable. His centre of gravity goes without question, it is very rare that he is fazed by a physical attack, at best his opponent can expect a turned cheek: nothing knocks this man off his feet.

In person he’s the stubborn no-nonsense type. He’s grumpy and lacks patience. He has a proud and numb warrior-mentality. Hvidsten says what he thinks and does what he says. He has no time for layabouts or daydreamers and has an intense dislike of anything fantasy related.

He is skilled with weapons, particularly hefty blades and sharpened blunts. His current preference is a two broadsword combo alongside a sizeable axe. He carries a hatchet for more refined fillet-splicing work. His primary job is that of a dragon slayer with most sales coming from their meat and valuable skins. He is also quite adept at crafting and refining weapons and armour.

He tells us he came from a large family, which might go some way to explaining his meat obsession. We were told to provide a buffet. No-one mentioned that by buffet they actually meant ‘a roast dragon husk preferably stuffed with a cow that is stuffed with a pig plus a roast rabbit, and a few ducks basted in goose fat.’ He seriously does like his food and has no table manners that we can see.
 ..........
(He declined to tell us what the L in his name stands for and also stoutly refused to remove his Ushanka hat even though we asked nicely. He also declined to elaborate why he might wear such a hat in the middle of the desert.)

Kale Arius

At 84 years of age and 5ft 7in tall Kale Arius is a known sociopath and talented thief with a predilection for murder. Amongst his scant associates, Lukas is the only person who wouldn’t prefer it if he stopped breathing; usually.

Kale portrays a cleverly crafted persona of utter madness; a somewhat lazy and vain egocentric that lives in the self-serving present. An impatient thrill seeker he is sharp, unpredictable and easily bored. If you happen to be in the vicinity of his boredom; get worried or better still leave as quickly as you can because he has a sick sense of humour and disturbingly skewed perspective on what classes as ‘entertainment.’ He laughs a lot albeit usually in a chilling and insane manner at other people’s misfortunes, such as the minor misfortune that you might have incurred a rather sizable laceration to your chest and be bleeding to death in front of him.

Alongside killing things he takes great pleasure in manipulation, he has striking eyes and a slippery tongue with which he easily charms his prey. Altering the way you think and making your life hell are part-time hobbies next to lying. Being morally reprehensible at the best of times you cannot trust a single word he says, he lies for kicks and rarely gives a straight answer. Ask about his past and the story will be different every time. Dark performance art at its finest, Kale successfully obscures a deep-rooted guilty conscience.

Editor’s disclaimer:
To Whom It May Concern we strongly advise against hiring Kale as an assassin due to the fact he seems to have trouble differentiating between client and target.
